Look at the fire out there. Isn't that what an explosion looks like down close.

We also have to take a look at the environment of the Universe, in relation to what we experience on earth. On earth matter loses energy and falls back to earth with the force of gravity. Well in case you have not noticed the universe does not have anything like earth influencing its gravitational characteristics. As a matter of fact the gravitational relationship between space objects of similar construct is quite random. Flying around in space resulting from your last departure could land you into a new gravitational field as you travel and cause you to accelerate toward the most powerful center of gravity you encounter. Well if you are traveling with the inertia of an explosion, you could be going very fast, perhaps losing some of your pep from the last explosion and accelerating to another center of gravity, where you will meet up with a great number of fellow travelers, and end up colliding into another black hole and being re-exploded back into space.

So it is with particles large and small. They travel from one black hole to another, with great speed, of varying size, influenced by all the laws of physics and chemistry, in a sea of chaos.

In as much as there seems to be no limitations to the distance and time available to travel, we could be observing a very large universe of a very small part of an ever larger universe, with galaxies, and whole universes colliding in chaos beyond our observable universe. As some have observed there is no reason to not to observe that the limitless time and distance we can measure can be infinite. What we observe could be a micro molecule of hair on an ever larger pussy cat, which is part of a universe wherein it is the grain of sand on a beach somewhere out there. In the other direction we may contain in our hair that was cut off the last time we went to the barber, whole solar systems of atoms and molecules within each particle of hair that was burned in the garbage. There is simply no telling. There are no apparent observable limits.

Have you ever tried to grab a piece of space? Have you ever tried to make or eliminate a moment of time. I had a professor once, who stated that time and space are relative. What he explained was, that time is simply a relative method in the mind for us to associate the sequence of events that occur in succession. Think of a ball rolling down an inclined plain. So many positions, all in sequence, but individual moments of existence as it falls. What happened to the reality of each circumstance as the ball rolled down the hill. Are they still real? Is each moment of position still in existence, regardless of its current position at rest. Either the circumstance is real, or it is not real. Does time effect the reality of the circumstance? The ball could not be at rest where it is unless it went through all those circumstances along its' path. We observe it in the "present". Do we think about the succession of circumstance while it stands still? How long has it been still? Can we observe all the bumps and bruises on the ball as it fell. Did we observe them? Are we aware of them? We watch the ball fall through "space" as it traveled down the plain. It went from place to place along the path. Sometimes it went faster, it bumped up and down, and then came to rest. Our brain can separate these circumstances and compare them in terms of time and space. This makes relating the experience to all other experiences, as to what, when, where, how. But can we really explain in absolute terms as to why??

So we observe the universe in human terms, with the limitation of the human mind. We can forget the limitations sometimes and simply massage our imagination to make the universe fit into our human thinking method. Not always. The universe is as it is, without the need for human mastery. It does not even know what we are or what we are thinking about it. Our theories are simply the imagination creating some possible explanation in our terms. Science becomes Art. Science becomes the illusions of the Artist. The challenge is to determine what is fact, against the limitations of our observations.

Dark energy, is the name for the current unexplained observation which we filter with the limitations and genius of the human mind. I see the simpler explanation. It is all conjecture that will be changed as certain as the theories of Plato, and all that came before us. Those who come after us will compliment our ingenuity and explain to their generation the error of our ways. So in a sense my two cents worth of observation is a good as any other. We are all far off from observing the real universe with our simple minds and our simple tools. Do we learn and know more as time goes on. maybe. But then with the infinite appearance of time and space, there is much to learn as we observe greater phenomenon down the line.

Dark Energy? Have fun. It will probably not be the final answer. If I cannot comprehend it, does not mean it is not real.

The Problem

Boilers in homes and buildings are inefficient, because they are without a brain. The development of Boiler Brains was accomplished with Exquisite Heat, which I invented in 2001. Folks see Exquisite Heat and have a problem wrapping their arms around it, because it was not put out by a Large Brand Name. This is a bit like ABC Soda. Folks think all things come from Coke and Pepsi.

Brand Recognition is difficult to gain unless you have a big corporate treasury to compete with the big Corporations. Even if you have investors, their goal is to develop a small company they can sell to a big corporation. In future Blogs we can cover that one in depth. My first goal is to lay out the situation, and problems and to allow you to discuss them freely. The beauty of this discussion is, I have been to the Mountain of Energy and I can speak about it. I save energy with my technology. I don't just talk about it. I am in buildings all day. I know what I'm talking about. I speak to everyone in the field. I know what their problems are.

Discussing energy and energy conservation at this level will help all of us to understand the problem. I invite folks to contribute, opine, and help to make sense of this subject. I only ask that we can make this discussion most relevant if we avoid party politics, hearsay, and comments that are irrelevant to the issue of energy conservation and the problem as to why very few folks are doing anything about it.

One area we must start with is the role of Government Research and development in the area of Energy Conservation. There is little being done to conserve on Energy at the oil or gas consumption level. Why? Because the oil and gas industry does not make maximum profits from Energy Conservation. Most of the technology the energy Department supports, is supported with half a heart, or with passing attention. Many of the products the Energy Star program supports do little to maximize the real opportunities for real Conservation.

As we proceed we will have separate posts to deal with these issues. That way the discussion can develop along limited lines of thought dealing with each level of "The Problem"

Thermostat Redesign

Most of you came from our web site; Thermostat analysis will determine the need for heating the return water. The control can either inject Solar energy if greater than the return water temperature on demand from the thermostat, or it can fire the boiler to meet the miniumum demand temperatures nesded. As days temperature changes twenty degrees from noon to 4 AM, the control can operate the total system. This should save many BTU's from fuels over the years. This method can also be employed with geothermal, heat pump systems

Cracking Boilers

Have you thought why boilers crack and have to be replaced? It is not because they are old. Modern boilers will last for ever. The only reason to change them is to upgrade for AFUE Annual Fuel Use Efficiency . The only reason to change is when they leak. Now boiler leaks are a plumbers dream. They are very expensive to repair, and cost lots of money. There is nothing to do but fix it quick. Your going to use the last guy to do it for you, because he is there now. But what about avoiding the problem in the first place. That requires knowledge of why it happens. There are two basic reasons.

1. Boiler operators do not know about the temperature changes and methods of managing temperatures in boilers. Always, the first solution to any heating problem is to raise the water temperature, to get heat fast.

2. Many heating controls turn the boiler off for many hours through the night, and then are turned on bringing cold water back to a cold boiler. Over time this will ruin the boiler due to rapid reaction to quick water temperature changes. It is a feast for boiler repair companies, and no one will tell the proper prevention for this.

We spend a lot of time educating managers and operators. It's a great service and out building owners love the results. Comfortable building residents and a more educated boiler room operator. "More is not always better." Call us and we can set you up with a trainer to help you keep your boilers healthy for many years to come. It's a great deal cheaper than replacement or expensive repairs.

How many buildings?

We have discussed the need for building to spend their fuel budget better, more comfortably and cheaper. We are at the same time discussing reduction of the smoke up the stack. If we reduce fuel use and increase comfort with a 10-30% reduction of smoke up the stack, major cities could have better air quality. The price of oil would go down with less demand.

So why do we not do it. The only answer I can think of, is the oil companies do not want to. They do not want their political friends to talk about it. If the Politicians start talking about reducing the use of oil through conservation, the politicians do not get the contributions they need to stay in office. Now you can write this up into a book. The truth is the truth.

What if government, oil and gas companies, utilities, service contractors, boiler makers, all start telling you that they can save money and make you comfortable by simply putting a simple control on all heating devices. That would be amazing. And how many applications are there to make these efficient improvements. Every occupied space in the country. Homes, buildings, schools, you name it. There are at least 20,000,000 applications out there. After you take care of giving comfort and efficiency to that 20,000,000 another 20,000,000 will come to mind. So why are we not doing it?? Comment below and we will all learn a thing or two.

Precision Heating

What folks have not realized, is the waste heat from buildings. This waste is measured by the comfort that is not had by uneven distribution or poor replacement of heat from building heat loss.

We know when it gets cold, the burner should go on and keep us warm. That is what we pay for, right? Well if you take a closer look, you will find that some heating systems do not come up soon enough and some come up too hot. Either side of this discomfort point, the fuel used is being wasted. If your not comfortable, your wasting the fuel you burn. Buildings that provide uneven heat usually are wasting 10-30 % of their fuel. The bills are higher than they should be and they are uncomfortable. Occupants are unhappy, cannot sleep, have dry skin, have to get up all night to check the blankets on the kids. The kids kick off the blankets when they are too hot and then they catchy cold when the building is cold. Windows on the hot side are open, letting all that energy out. We all seem to put up with this discomfort. We do not realize that it is totally unnecessary. There is no reason for this condition to exist.

Buildings need to have boilers controlled, to achieve the exact heat loss analysis and heat replacement, every hour of the day. There are controls in building that do nothing to address comfort. They simply turn the heat on and off to satisfy the heat minimum law in the community. Landlords do not realize that their buildings can be comfortable at the best economical expense. Most of them are numb to any solution. Why? Hey, we all get a little intellectually lazy toward new things. Landlords are numb remember. They don't believe complaints. I always tell landlords that they should listen to their customers. If the customer says they are not getting heat, they usually are not. Problem is the landlord send the broom up to fix the heat. You know what that gets. A broom. The problem cannot be fixed, because there is no proper comfort control in the boiler room.

So there is a way to make steam and hot water building just as comfy as can be. All at a minimum expense to the Landlord and fewer complaints from residents. You can see the details on the pages of our website http://www.exqheat.com/

Corporate Power and Anti Trust

I enjoy reading Trade Journals. They have interesing articles, lots of expensive advertising, and I feel I am getting a great presentation. All this came to a crashing halt when I invented something and tried to get it publicized in the media. I was educated to understand that the real power of Marketing in this modern times, is to be Big, Frequent, and spend lots of money. Well how do you do that. If you invent a new ABC Soda, your only hope is to be bought out by a big three company and hope they can make you a part of their Brand Team. If they do not buy you out, you are doomed. Energy Star will not support a product that is not Nationaly available. What does that do for the little guys. We are put in the back classified along with the rest of the no-names. I'm nto wringing out sour grapes, so much as giving a realistic view for the new commers. When you go to the tradesmen directly, are they going to pick up an ABC Soda at the Deli. They too are trade name oriented. If you go directly to the homeowner, they will not try something new. So whaere does one go to get recognized for an energy conservation technology?? The Department of energy? No. They are the answer to everyones energy problem. They are not interested in anything they did not think of. The Department of energy spends money on giving research money to the big three. There is no ability to propose anything new.. There is no one who will even look at something they did not already think of. There attitude is similar to the Big three. If we ddin't think of it, it does not exist. How about right to the big three for a royalty agreement? I tried that. One told me they had prior art. They didn't show it to me. I went to another of the big three and they told me they had probably already thought of that, and they would not be interested. These big companie have staff engineers who are paid big bucks to know everything. Do you think you can approach them with an answer that might work. I can tell you, you have to be kidding. Do you think these fellows with their large staffs, are going into the bosses office to tell him someone else thought of the answer. He'd be fired for not thinking of it. I've gone there.

What did I learn. You have to put your product in the trunk of your car and sell it building owner by building owner, any way you can. So that's what we do.

The combination of huge advertising budgets and acquisition of competition keeps anyone from growing to a size that will be successful. The big companies just wait until your patent runs out and copy you. Loo at what happened to Mobil One Oil. Mobile is a big company. They did not realize the wonderful product they had in Mobil One. Now after the patents are off and the art is public, everyone is getting into the synthetic oil business.

Do not underestimate the Power of the Big Three Corporations in any industry. With the power of advertising, these Corporations control everything you do. Just look at what the fast food Corporations have done to us. We are Obese. Look at what the cigarette companies have done to us. We are addicted. They had the power of advertising to eliminate any opposition.

Sop we aask, who is advertising for conservation. No one really. We consumers do not have the add dollars or organization to advertise our own needs. Politicians certainly won't change that. Thye will give it lip service. That's the best you'll get. besides Conservation will reduce income for the companies and revenues for the government.

Utilities maximize profits

For years Utilities have been required to make attempts to conserve on energy by doing requested energy audits. They have offered free conversions to gas boilers from oil boilers. They offer to install thermostats for air conditioning that they can set back over the Internet to reduce the load on the grid. We will cover this subject in great depth.

I received a note with my bill some years ago with regard to the value and benefits of changing my boiler to natural gas from the oil that I had used for many years. From an air pollution standpoint and the removal of the old oil tank at its risk of devaluing the property, I thought this is a good thing. So I went further.

The additional cost for gas piping was expected. The new boiler was delivered and installed. I later removed the oil tank. The men seemed very professional. I was happy with the more reliable service from the gas boiler. I began trying to see if I was saving any money on the switch. I found that I was not. I then decided to see what I could do to change that., My first notion was to do a boiler sizing survey to see if the boiler put in was a good size. After the analysis I found I needed a 180,000 BTU boiler. The one installed was a 300,000 BTU boiler. So much for due diligence on the part of the gas company and its contractor.

Let's take a look at the electric side. Many incentives have been induced to save energy for the utilities. Most of these are used to reduce peak load periods. The savings here are sold to the public as money saving as the electric rates are highest at the peak times. Anything that looks like a shift or reduction from peak rates is good. If you look at it from a utility point of view, this is great. As society has more electric use from appliances and comfort equipment, the wires are being used to capacity. With the normal peaks and vallies in the use pattern the wires are being stressed to the brown out point. This is bad. So the utility wants to flatten the use curve to avoid brown outs from the old wires, avoid having to put up new wires to your house and neighborhood, and make more money by delivering a higher average number of billable watts. We are not really saving energy. We are just spreading the use out so the wires can deliver more electricity with less power outage.
